AMD Environmental’s focus of service in the area of lead based paint is how to safely and economically deal with lead based paint issues while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Lead occurs as both a natural element found in the ground (or as dust in the air) and as part of manmade materials. Our approach to the lead issue is focused on keeping abreast of current regulatory changes and advising their clients with respect to compliance and potential lead health and/or legal related problems.
Lead is a soft metal that is used in a surprising number of consumer products. Lead-based paint was used extensively as a surface coating up until 1978. Environmental problems arise when the paint breaks down (chips, cracks, flakes, etc.) and degrades into toxic paint chips and dust particles. There is a very real danger associated with lead poisoning, especially to developing children.
The best way to protect yourself, your family, or your tenants is to have a lead-risk assessment or paint inspection performed on your property. We can identify all lead-based surface coatings in the home with our knowledge, experience, specialized testing techniques and technology. The information gained during a surface by surface lead-Inspection is good for the life of the property and will help determine cost effective ways to eliminate or control future issues.
